Richmond Council is taking action against drivers who stop illegally in yellow box junctions, creating obstruction, delay to other drivers and increasing local congestion.
Following a rise in the number of complaints from frustrated drivers who have requested better control of junctions across the borough, the Council has decided to introduce CCTV enforcement at the three most problematic junctions.
The following junctions will shortly be subject to CCTV enforcement: Kew Road junction with Church Road (Richmond), Castelnau junction with Trinity Church Road (Barnes) and York Street junction with Arragon Road (Twickenham).
Drivers could be issued with a PCN of £130 (reduced to £65 if paid within 14 days) if caught stopping in these box junctions. Any PCN income will be reinvested into the borough’s transport network, including road and pavement resurfacing.
