The Avenue Club provides not only social and other physical and creative activities but trips, outings and talks as a lifeline for older people in the Kew and Richmond area who want to get the most out of life.
The Club is open Mondays to Fridays, with Monday being specifically allocated for the older and less independent members of the Community who are brought to the Club by registered taxi and a trained carer is available to help them.
The Club, which has over 400 members, provides activities such as Yoga, Line Dancing, Pilates, Gentle Exercises, Tai chi, Chiropody, Massage, Aromatherapy as well as hairdressing and manicures
Other creative clubs include there is Creative writing, Supervised Bridge, Choir, Art, Knit and Stitch, Book club, Bingo and French conversation classes.
Alternatively, members can simply socialise with members or play board games or cards. A nutritious and affordable meal is served daily Monday-Thursday 12-1pm.
Other events include organised lectures, entertainment and talks on a huge variety of topics such as bee keeping, beer tasting, dance groups and healthy cookery.
The outings are all organised to a large variety of places, such as behind the scenes at a theatre or to an historical houses and many more.
