Our nursery is situated in Kew, near Richmond upon Thames. We are a mere ten minute walk from the world famous Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. Our nursery is maintained by the local authority and is the only stand-alone nursery in the borough. We share our site with the Croft Centre which houses services and charities that work with the borough’s disabled children and their families.
The building is predominantly open plan, providing a large space for the range of equipment and activities available for the children.
The outside play space contains a large sand-pit, garden house, climbing equipment and a quiet seating area as well as flower beds, a grassed area and a tarmac area which allows for year round use.
We also offer a Sensory Room, which is a specifically designed environment, offering the children a range of sensory experiences in therapy, learning, relaxation and fun. This is a special room in which the children can completely relax or interact with all elements of the space. Additionally the children have the opportunity to use a soft play space containing a ball pool.
Our Jigsaw Unit provides specialist pre-school education for up to eight children who are identified as having social and communication disorders.
Our parent and toddler groups, Crawlers and Explorers is for 09 to 2 year olds and Little Learners is for 0 to 3 year olds. We also have provision for 2 and 3 year olds.
Windham Nursery is part of the Windham Croft Centre for children, providing children’s centre activities term-time and housing services dedicated to working with the families of children with disabilities.
