Dr David Bellingham, art historian, author and the Programme Director of MA in Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, will speak on one of the National Gallery’s most iconic pictures. He will explore the origins and purpose of Botticelli’s masterpiece, including the possibility of a more serious underlying Christian message.
This event is dedicated to the memory of the late Dr Helen Kraus, parishioner of St Anne’s Church, who assisted the speaker with his research into this enigmatic painting.
Coffee will be available from 10.30 with the talk starting at 11.00.
Tickets at £15.00 (£10.00 for Friends) include a light lunch and a glass of wine and are available online, by e-mail or phone and also in church on the preceding Sundays.
