Kew Sparkle 2019
December 6 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
THE family Christmas event in Kew – organised by the local community – the ever-popular Kew Sparkle features carols from local schools, carousels and rides, stalls featuring local food & drink and also stalls with fabulous ideas for Christmas gifts. There will be a raffle too.
There’s already been lots of effort to help make this year’s event go with a swing: the Village will be decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and many people are helping to fundraise. Local schoolchildren are taking part in “Kew Kids for Kew Christmas Lights” – they wear a Christmas jumper to school and make a donation. There’s a fundraising dinner on November 27th for the lights: huge thanks to the Kew Sparkle Committee and the Kew Gardens Hotel for organising.
Volunteers – the team would love to hear from you! If you have some spare time on Friday 6 December 2019 – any time from 1pm to 9pm – and want to help out for an hour, then do please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred slot and contact details.
All profits go to charity – this year the Kew Sparkle is supporting the Vineyard Community Centre (VCC). The Vineyard Community Centre is a registered charity that specialises in helping meet the needs of the most vulnerable and destitute in the local community. Guests using their services are mostly homeless, living in poverty or socially isolated as a consequence of family breakdown, unemployment or addictions. The VCC provides a “morning drop in” to those in crisis, a community nursing service, a food bank with five satellites, a cafe which welcomes those who experience social exclusion and a charity shop.
So many ways to get involved with such a great event!
