Join Alistair Murphy, Curator at the Cromer Museum, to explore the life and career of Mary Olive Edis.
The first female war photographer, Edis undertook a commission from the War Office to photograph the Western Front in the immediate aftermath of the First World War. Recently, the Norfolk Museums Service has unveiled a digital archive which brings together her work and journals. In addition to her war work,Edis photographed women and their roles during the conflict in Europe and on the Home Front.
This talk will explore her life and contribution to twentieth-century photography.
