Pierre Bonnard – The Colour of Memory
April 6 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm£20
Exclusive talk by Tate Modern Curator Matthew Gale who will discuss his exhibition The CC Land Exhibition: Pierre Bonnard – The Colour of Memory.
This is the first major exhibition of the renowned French painter in London for twenty years. It is centred on Bonnard’s unique use of colour through which he reinvented his practice from around 1912 until his death in 1947. His interest in photography ensured that he made compositions of great sophistication beyond their apparent simplicity.
The exhibition runs at Tate Modern until 6th May.
Matthew Gale is Head of Displays at Tate Modern and the curator of a number of major exhibitions at Tate. These include exhibitions on the work of Joan Miró and on Paul Klee, and he is co-curator of this summer’s exhibition of the painter and designer for the Ballets Russes, Natalia Goncharova.
Tickets for this event are £20, including coffee (at 10.30 am), a light lunch and a glass of wine, and may be purchased online here or at the church only on the second Sunday each month preceding the event. All Friends are eligible for a £5 discount.
