An exclusive Talk by Dr. David Bellingham on ‘Vincent Van Gogh and Britain’ which has recently opened at Tate Britain. Van Gogh lived in London between 1873-1876, lodging in Oval andStockwell, working for Covent Garden art dealers, and teaching and preaching in Ramsgate and Isleworth. This illustrated lecture will explore the various themes of the exhibition which coverVincent’s experiences in London and how his later art developed out of them, as well as his influence on British Modernist artists from Vanessa Bell to Francis Bacon.
Tickets for this event are £20, including coffee (at 10.30 am), a light lunch and a glass of wine, and may be purchased online here or at the church only on the second Sunday each month preceding the event. All Friends are eligible for a £5 discount.
