Kew Gardens Orchid Festival

Get a taste of Colombia, the world’s most biodiverse country, at the Royal Botanical Gardens’ annual festival of orchids.  It runs from 9th February to 10th March.  There’s a curated route through the flowers, adorned with depictions of animals – including a toucan, a hanging sloth and a swimming turtle!  Butterflies and a golden display inspired by the legend of El Dorado are also to be found at the festival, which is in the Princess of Wales conservatory.
