Kew Society Campaigns for Step-Free Access at Kew Gardens Station
The Kew Society has been awarded a grant from Richmond Council’s Community Fund to explore options for providing step free access at Kew Gardens Station.
At present there is no step free access at the station to enable the disabled, elderly and parents with buggies to cross easily between the platforms. The station serves Kew village, the Royal Botanic Gardens (which had 1.86 million visitors in 2018) and The National Archives.
The Kew Society applied to the Community Fund in May this year in order to finance a study to determine how this situation could be remedied. Now that our application has been approved, we will be engaging consulting engineers this autumn to investigate what options might be possible.
