The Department of Education (DfE) has announced that the Aspirations Academies Trust has been selected to run the proposed secondary school on the Stag Brewery site.
As part of a current Planning Application to redevelop the former Stag Brewery in Mortlake, it is proposed to create a new six-form entry secondary school. When full, the school would have 900 pupils in total across Years 7-11, plus a sixth form of 250.
The Aspirations Academies Trust is a leading free school provider in the UK with 14 schools across the country, including four in Hounslow Borough. The School would be open in partnership with, and named after, Ian Livingstone CBE, who co-founded the very successful retail company Games Workshop and lives within the borough.
The DfE has decided that, subject to planning permission, the Livingstone Academy, a school originally approved to be opened in East London, will relocate to the Brewery site. The school will be moving location due to a change in the future demand for secondary places in its original area.
The new school will be called Livingstone Academy West London. The school’s proposed opening date will also be decided and announced in due course.
