Classified: LGBTQ History research event for the Being Human Festival

October 12, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join this drop in session to research The Link, a ‘lonely-hearts’ style publication from the early twentieth century, which sought to connect people. It is littered with coded language for men to meet men, with phrases including “bachelor”, “bohemian” and “unconventional”. Your research will then feature at a final performance on Saturday 23 November at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, where Timberlina and Auntie Maureen will bring to life some of these coded, intriguing and sometimes naughty personal ads found in our collections.
