DESCRIPTION:Kew Sinfonia would love you to join us for our summer concert at St Anne’s Church\, Kew Green\, when we will be presenting a programme exploring both classical and neo-classical styles. \nPaying homage to the great Franz Josef Haydn\, we will be performing his Symphony No 101\, popularly known as “The Clock” due to the 2nd movement’s ticking rhythm. This famous work will be complimented with Prokofiev’s charming and humorous “Classical Symphony”\, No 1. Imagining how Haydn might have composed had he still been alive at the time\, the piece is unique in its conscious attempt to revive the classical style\, but with a modern twist. \nThe other two works in the programme are also neo-classical\, in contrasting ways.  We are delighted to welcome soloist Hannah Gillingham to play Nielsen’s Flute Concerto – a warm\, lyrical work combining classical economy with quirky 20th century orchestration. The borders between the gardens are mostly relatively low and the trees and large shrubs in each contribute to viewing the whole\, while roses and clematis climb between gardens giving colour to two adjacent gardens at the same time.  Children attend free.  Teas\, including wine\, available at nearby St Anne’s Church Hall.
