DESCRIPTION:The Orange Tree Theatre’s Acting Lab is an opportunity to develop your performance skills\, increase your confidence and work on scripts by established playwrights in a fun\, supportive environment. We’ll approach theatre-making through a variety of practitioners’ techniques\, developing our skills both individually and as part of an ensemble. \nOver the course of five weeks\, you will: \n\n\nLearn how an actor prepares through physical and vocal exercises \n\n\nExplore how to create and embody characters for monologues \n\n\nDevelop your ability to listen and respond to other actors in scene work \n\n\nDeepen your understanding of scripts and play structure \n\n\nIncrease your confidence in performance \n\n\nOur Acting Lab is an open space for you to learn new skills or sharpen your craft with a group of like-minded individuals. \nOpen to anyone aged 18+. No previous experience is necessary- just a sense of curiosity! \nThe course will run on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm – 9:30pm from 19th November to 17th December 2025 and will be led by director Jess Haygarth. \n\nThe course costs £115 and all Lab members will receive one free ticket to an OT Main House production. \nTo ensure that our Community programme remains accessible and open to everyone\, we have limited bursary places available for all our participation projects.
