Great news – with changes to the government’s lockdown restrictions, Kew Gardens will be opening from Monday 1 June 2020 in a limited capacity.  It is now essential that time slots are booked online (see https://www.kew.org/kew-gardens/visit-kew-gardens/tickets) in order to ensure the safety of visitors and the Kew Gardens staff.  You will need to show proof of your time slot on admission in order to gain entry.
There are several new guidelines in place as the gardens try to ensure social distancing.  Most of the buildings and attractions (including all restaurants, shops, galleries, the Kew Explorer and the Children’s Garden) will remain closed – though there will be pop-up catering and retail outlets accepting card payments only.
In a letter to members, Kew Gardens also points out that horticultural standards are not quite where they would like them to be at this point in the season, as many of their world-class horticulturalists have been furloughed.  The Gardens also ask that members are considerate of others and do not book too many slots.
