KNA launches Kew’s friendliest dog competition

KNA-full-colour

Kew Neighbourhood Association is looking to find one of Kew’s friendliest dogs to be the star of their 2020 Christmas card to  clients and volunteers. The winning canine will be photographed in a Christmas themed photoshoot for KNA and will take seasonal greetings to hundreds of local residents.

Kew residents are asked to submit a recent photograph of their dog, which fits the theme of happiness, with the tags #KNAKewmunitydogs and @kewneighbours on their social media channels Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, or via email to vicky.griffin@kna.org.uk.

The competition must be entered by the owner of the dog, aged over 18, and resident in the Kew Neighbourhood area of  service, which is detailed in full here.   Please check your address against the service area before spending time taking photographs.  Entries must be submitted between Monday 5 October and Sunday 11 October. Judging will take place Wednesday 14 October.  Full details are available on their Facebook page here.

KNA connects local volunteers with local people who need practical help or would welcome companionship whilst still maintaining their independence. The charity was started in 1977 by local people and has been thriving ever since. All the support is offered completely free to clients.  Volunteers give their time free of charge and drivers can claim a mileage allowance to cover expenses.  They are always looking for new volunteers.  Volunteers only accept the jobs that work for them, giving from as little as 30 minutes 2-4 times a month. Drivers are particularly needed at the moment. Driving in your own car, you would be required to complete a free DBS and reference check. Volunteers and clients are all required to follow KNA’s infection control policy, and masks and gloves can be supplied for you and your passenger if required.
