Stay at home and save lives this weekend – no matter the weather

Stay at Home 200403

Residents are reminded to stay at home and save lives this weekend – no matter the weather.

This weekend is set to be a sunny one and residents are reminded by the Police and the Council to stay at home and save lives.

There will be additional Police Officers patrolling the borough on Saturday and Sunday to ensure members of the public adhere to coronavirus restrictions. The additional officers will pay particular attention to parks and open spaces.

Gatherings of more than 2 people in public spaces are prohibited and police have been given extra powers to ensure members of the public adhere to Government rules.

Everyone has a part to play in reducing the spread of Coronavirus and all UK residents must comply by only leaving their homes for one of four reasons:

  • Shopping for necessities
  • One form of exercise a day
  • Any medical need or to provide care to a vulnerable person
  • Travelling to and from work when this cannot be done from home

If residents do leave home for one of the above reasons, a 2-metre distance (the length of a typical door frame) should be kept from anyone outside of your household.
