St Luke’s Church

St. Luke’s Church is a vibrant church with a growing congregation, active choir and Junior Church. Junior Church runs in term time and on the first Sunday of every month – there is All Age Worship for children and adults together.

The church is open for private prayer between 9am and 2pm on Mondays to Thursdays.

St Luke’s has two services each week:

Sunday 11am – Parish Eucharist with Junior Church. On the first Sunday of the month there is All Age Worship for adults and children. Tea and coffee is served in the Church hall after the service.

Thursday 10am – Said Communion

Bible Study takes place on Tuesday at 11am.  We read the passages set for the coming Sunday, to help us get to grips with the texts.

St Luke’s Church was built in 1889, following a temporary ‘iron church’ in Sandycombe Road, to serve the population of the parish with the coming of the District Line.The large Victorian Church in the Avenue was redesigned in 1983 to function as a dual-purpose building: a smaller church in the chancel area, and the former nave as community space, with a second hall constructed in the lofty roof area building. These areas of the building are currently occupied by the Kew Community Trust. The core activity of the Trust is the Avenue Club, a non-profit making social center offering a range of recreational activities for the whole community.
