Sam’s Paradise – A talk by Peter Popham

Kew Theology and Gardening invite you to a talk by Peter Popham, journalist and author, on Tuesday 10th March 7:30pm in St Anne’s Parish Hall on Sam’s Paradise – How an old-fashioned Englishman in Sri Lanka brought a tropical forest back from the dead – by weeding. This story is told in the book DAMBULLA – a Sanctuary of Tropical Trees, written by Peter’s friend & distant relative, Sam Popham, which was first published in 1993 with the support of Kew Gardens and its first Director of Conservation, Grenville Lucas. Now friends of the Popham Arboretum have published a beautiful new edition which is on sale in Kew Gardens shop, priced £8.99, and will also be available at the talk.
