Westerly Ware Pétanque Picnic

The Westerly Ware Association are holding their annual Pétanque Picnic on Sunday June 28th. Come along from midday, bring a picnic or some nibbles to share, throw some boules and enjoy a day in the park.  There’ll be a children’s treasure hunt from 12.00-1.00 and delicious crêpes to decorate.

In the meantime, if you’d like to start playing, there’s a WhatsApp group of occasional players that would love to meet you for casual games, or maybe something more regular.  Please email info@westerlyware.com if you’d like to join.

Pétanque is a sport which people of all ages, genders and abilities can play together. The basic rules are easy to learn, but you can spend years perfecting your tactics.  It’s fun and sociable, and a great way to get some fresh air and gentle exercise.  Why not invite your neighbours for a game, or set up a pub team? The Piste is free to use, with no booking required – just turn up and have a go. Boules can be borrowed from the Greyhound.
