Pimm’s and Sunday Teas return to St Anne’s

From this weekend, St Anne’s Church Hall will be hosting Sunday Teas every Sunday from 2:30 to 5pm, with homemade cakes and scones, local jam, tea, coffee, Pimm’s and a £4 seasonal pasta dish.  The St Anne’s concert series will begin on May 31st.  The weekly fundraiser supports the pastoral work of St Anne’s Church.

This year, Richard Crampton-Platt, the former owner of Café Britaly in Peckham, is contributing a seasonal changing pasta dish, returning to hospitality a year after closing his own restaurant. The first pasta dish is rigatoni with asparagus, courgette and pea, based on a Florentine recipe with mint and parsley.

“A year on from closing my restaurant, it feels incredibly special to be cooking for people again. Not as my own food business this time, but as a way of giving something back to local people who have done so much to support me,” says Crampton-Platt.

“Sunday Teas have always been about hospitality, community, and welcome. It is wonderful to see the churchyard full of people on a Sunday afternoon, with cake, cricket, and conversation on Kew Green. It’s about people coming together, and helping us care for the wider community,” says Giles Fraser, Vicar of St Anne’s.

The pasta dish will change monthly and be advertised in advance on social media.
