Staying Warm and Connected This Winter – Shared By Kew Neighbourhood Association

As the colder months begin, many of us feel the shift, both physically and emotionally. At this time of year, staying warm, maintaining routine, and staying connected can make a big difference to wellbeing.
In this newsletter, we’re sharing local support available to help residents stay warm and well this winter, along with small acts of kindness that strengthen our community every day.

Warm Home Support in Richmond

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is offering practical help for the colder months, including:

• Warm Home Packs
For eligible households, including items such as radiator foil, draught-proofing tape and LED bulbs.
• Winter Warmth Home Service (in partnership with Thinking Works)
A free home assessment for residents over 65 or on low incomes, offering guidance on heating, insulation and simple ways to keep warmer at home.

Winter Wellbeing: Gentle Reminders

A few small practices can help support wellbeing over the winter months:

🕯️ Let daylight in where you can, and close curtains early in the evening
🥣 Have warm meals and drinks throughout the day
🚶‍♀️ Move a little each day, even gentle stretches at home help circulation
💬 Keep in contact – a friendly chat can lift the spirits
💛 Reach out sooner rather than later if things feel difficult

You are not alone. Support is nearby.
