Kew Fete – 16 Local Charities Benefit

AN AMAZING £21,986 RAISED BY KEW MIDSUMMER FETE THIS YEAR DONATED TO 16 LOCAL CHARITIES

 

Kew Fete in mid-June was a real scorcher and despite having to cancel the hugely popular Dog Show due to the heat, there was still a great turn-out by the community and wider London. The enthusiasm for this much-loved annual event means the Fete raised a fantastic, weather-defying total of £21,986. This brings the overall total raised for local good causes since 2010 to an incredible £244,980, tantalisingly close to a quarter of a million pounds!

 

The proceeds this year have been donated to 16 local charities who have all warmly welcomed the funds towards specific requirements at a time when many charitable organisations are struggling to keep going.

£1,940 to Small Steps – for children with disabilities

£500 to Kew Community Trust – rehousing a community defibrillator

£2,000 to SPEAR – local homelessness relief

£1,000 to REACT – rapid response for terminally ill children

£2,000 to Vineyard Richmond Foodbank – food supplies for those in need

£2,000 to Hounslow Community Foodbox – food supplies for those in need

£1,025 to ASCA – Addiction Support & Care Agency

£2,000 to Crossroads Care – home and community respite

£2,000 to Skylarks – children with disabilities

£750 to Purple Elephant – children’s mental health

£1,500 to Orange Tree Theatre – workshops and materials for community programme

£2,000 to Brighter Together – pre-schoolers in care homes

£404 to Kew Neighbourhood Association

£550 to Kew Scout Group

£1,317 to Riverbank – for vulnerable single mothers

£1,000 to Park Lane stables – riding for the disabled
