Office Volunteers Needed at Kew Neighbourhood Association
KNA is currently seeking Office Volunteers to join their friendly team. This vital role supports their core work, connecting 50+ volunteer drivers with over 200 beneficiaries in the local area – many of whom are elderly or vulnerable.
Time commitment: 3 hours, 9:30am – 12:30pm, once a fortnight
Location: Either from home or at St Luke’s House, Sandycombe Road, Kew, TW9 3NP
Contact: Abi Palmer, KNA Director – 07951 293 319 / mail@kna.org.uk
Are you comfortable using the phone, able to learn a simple online database system, and enjoy being part of a small team? If so, they’d love to hear from you.
Office Volunteers are the first point of contact for KNA clients who call to request transport to essential appointments or to The Avenue Club. Volunteers then match these requests with available drivers using an online system.
As one of KNA’s volunteers put it:
“It’s an opportunity to use my office skills whilst helping the local community. It’s lovely to speak with our clients.”
You can choose to volunteer either from home or from KNA’s small office at St Luke’s House. Training and ongoing support are provided.
About Kew Neighbourhood Association
KNA (Charity No. 1196093) was established in 1977 by local residents to support people in Kew who are housebound or have mobility difficulties, regardless of background, religion, or beliefs. They currently have over 200 clients, around 40 volunteer drivers, and 28 companionship volunteers. Each year, KNA completes around 3,000 local jobs, including:
Lifts to medical appointments and local day centres
Companionship visits and outings
Help with shopping and light gardening
Moments of Joy – small touches that help our clients feel remembered and valued, including our annual client tea party
KNA is managed by a volunteer board of trustees and run by three part-time staff members from our Kew office. They are funded by grants from other charities, Richmond Council, and public donations.
